Ghana has announced plans to advance AI adoption and become a regional leader in emerging technologies. During the ENJOY AI 2025 African Open in Accra, Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, highlighted the country’s development of a National AI Strategy and an Emerging Technologies Bill. He also highlighted ongoing initiatives like the One Million Coders Programme and the Girls-in-ICT project. Sukparu also announced a directive from the President requiring all government agencies to adopt AI tools from 2026. The competition, titled “Chasing the Stars,” urged young Africans to harness technology to address real-world challenges.
